Vlaknasta - "Sondaža materničnih žalosti" (2015)

VLAKNASTA "Sondaža materničnih žalosti (A sondage of cervical sorrows)"

Year: 2015
Genre: Black Noise
Country: Slovenia

Track List:
  1. Paradigma skrbi
  2. O sanjah in ploskosti
bandcamp

A new tape released by Slovenia-based Štrigon Records (see also Human Host Body). Vlaknasta is described as "a black metal/atonal improv-compositional project, a meeting of black metal intensities, sound forms and expressive tropes with atonal improvisation, free-noise drumming, experimental composition and a parellel process of text generation, an attempt to write through different perceptions of female pain, occult currents of experience, both a breaking through and a being-part-of hearing that which is". Surely it's stuff not for everyone's liking, but those who do like noisy BM shouldn't be disappointed.

Voice Eater - "Nihil" (2015)

Voice Eater - "Nihil"

Year: 2015
Genre: Black Metal, Doom/Sludge, Noisecore
Country: USA

Track List:

  1. Luz Negra
  2. Weight
  3. Defeater
  4. Vida Mierda
  5. Orphan Breed
  6. Weakling
  7. Duele
  8. Catharsis
bandcamp

Voice Eater from Arizona starts their first song, Luz Negra with according to me, excessively annoying ambience and follows that up with very poor recording that makes their music a headache to listen to. The same can be said of their second track, though their third track, Defeater was a lot more enjoyable despite the poor quality with it's more distinguishable screaming and enjoyable power chords. Their fourth track, Vida Mierda was of less quality than Defeater but slightly enjoyable. I really think their fifth track, Orphan Breed would've been a huge artistic success if it had been recorded with better equipment and/or under better circumstances. The same can be somewhat said of their sixth track, Weakling. Their seventh track, Duele shows amazing clarity initially despite minimal feedback on the song's recording. Their last and longest track Catharsis sounds like another potential minor success of a song from the album that was hampered by poor quality recording. It's finale sounds brilliant and somehow shines through the poor recording. A complete summary of the album would be that it was too poorly recorded to give a fair and accurate review, but I'll give it one and a half stars for effort. * */**.

PunaTerrori - demo (2013)

PUNATERRORI "demo"

Year: 2013
Genre: Black Noise
Country: Finland

Track List:
  1. Empires In Ruins
  2. Under The Sign Of The Star
  3. The Path To Our Destiny
  4. Kristittyjen Viimeinen Yö
DOWNLOAD

Raw blackened noise-punk from Finland, a side project of a member of another band which plays standard black metal, musically (not ideologically) influenced mostly by bands like Goatmoon and Satanic Warmaster. The project holds anti-revisionist (but not authoritarian) views and is strongly against any religion, especially Abrahamic ones. For those who wanted really evil, raw black metal that glorifies the revolutionary struggle. If you're unsure whether to download it or not, listen to this track:

Martian Moth - "Tudo no lugar" (2012)

MARTIAN MOTH "tudo no lugar"

Year: 2012
Genre: Black Noise
Country: Brazil

Track List:
  1. Super-Romário
  2. Video0016.3gp
  3. a cética arte
  4. dinossauro chinês
bandcamp

Martian Moth is a solo project of Black Vulture's guitarist. Honestly I'd recommend this release only to those who are really into very experimental stuff, as this mix of noise rock and DSBM doesn't sound like anything I've posted here before, including other Brazilian black/noise bands. BTW, Black Vulture have just released their new album, called "Depois Disso", which I haven't listened to yet.

P.S.; if you're into absurdist noise mixed with black metal and other unorthodox stuff like this, you may want to check out Brobdingnagian's newest EP "with/hisawfulteetH" (I personally still prefer stuff like on "Machines of Unrelenting Terror", though)

Ivpiter & Teenage Suicide - "The Darkness Of This Young Thunderous Land" (2013)

IVPITER / TEENAGE SUICIDE "The Darkness Of This Young Thunderous Land"

Year: 2013
Genre: Raw Black Metal/Noise (Ivpiter), Crust/Grind with industrial overtones (Teenage Suicide)
Country: Brazil

Track List:

Ivpiter
  1. IX
  2. X
  3. XI
  4. XII
  5. XIII
Teenage Suicide
  1. Arena
  2. Drunk driver
  3. Domination
  4. Sin
  5. Free speech as hate speech
bandcamp

Another release coming from Latin America - this time a split featuring two bands you're probably already familiar with (Ivpiter and Teenage Suicide). Don't think I can recommend it to everyone, but if you're into raw and noisy stuff (see their compatriots Vaba Marat for example), then it might be for you.

Printemps Noir - "Front Pour La Libération Des Aliénés" (2012)

PRINTEMPS NOIR "Front Pour La Libération Des Aliénées"

Year: 2012
Genre: Black Noise
Country: UK

Track List:
  1. Intro (Under The Indifferent Stars)
  2. Rites Of Darkness
  3. To Annihilate The Self-Hood Of Deceit & False Forgiveness
  4. Amor Imprevisto
  5. The Anguish Of No Future

These tracks weren't actually intended for publishing, because X. (the person behind Printemps Noir) considered this demo as a failure, and released it only as a cassette for friends (not for the broad audience). However, a 128kbps rip of the cassette has leaked to metalarea.org. After I stumbled upon it, I contacted X., who sent me a 320kbps version of "Front..." with a permission to do whatever I want with it, and the following release notes:

"I recorded in this Summer in England and France in a particularly fucked-up and angry frame of mind... Anyone who downloads this and complains about how bad it is is stupid and deserves everything they get. This is True Black Metal Outsider Art, only for the fucked-up and hard of hearing. It's not an 'album' and I'm not a 'band'"

Musically, "Front..." contains of roughly equal amount of minimalistic dark ambient and very lo-fi black metal. It's indeed very raw and noisy, but it serves the purpose to reflect the atmosphere of insanity very well. Anyway, this album is actually quite good for its genre, somehow reminding me of Shapeless' demos. Definitely recommened to all the fanatics of primitive black metal and noise punk (BTW, according to X., he was highly inspired by early Siberian punk scene, which always was one of my favourites as well).

P.S. Although X. has no desire for a self-promotion and would prefer to remain anonymous, he's open for doing a split EP with anyone English- or French-speaking who plays BM (no NSBM), dark ambient, punk, grindcore, thrash, etc.

Vaba Marat - "Black Noise Antifascista" (2012)

VABA MARAT "Black Noise Antifascista"

Year: 2012
Genre: Noise, Primitive Black Metal/Punk
Country: Brazil

Track List:
  1. O Dominado
  2. O Antiprimitivo
  3. A Plenitude
  4. O Erro
  5. A Assombração
  6. O Dominado
bandcamp

Newest release from Vaba Marat, a noisecore/raw black metal broject from Curitiba led by Felipe (also in MOTIM and Homunculi). The quality of production is surprisingly good (if this word is at all applicable to noise/anti-music), and I'd recomment this EP to everyone who likes raw and noisy blackened punk. The only downside, in my opinion, is that the opening track (as well as the ending) is somewhat too lengthy.

Primitive Accumulation - "Drive For Return To Inorganic Matter" (2011)

((prmtv-ccmltn)) "Drive For Return To Inorganic Matter"

Year: 2011
Genre: Black Noise/PV
Country: Canada

DOWNLOAD

Primitive Accumulation, or ((prmtv-ccmltn)), are a band from Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada, whose first demo cassette "Drive for Return to Inorganic Matter" came out in December of 2011. Musically they're influenced by raw black metal, power violence/fastcore, noise and "other weird shit we can get our hands on" (c); politically - by the ideas of Marx, Marcuse, Negri, Deleuze, Guattari and the New Left in general. The demo consists of 8 short tracks, but it's mixed in one long track here (alternative download link with 8 tracks). I'd recommend it to fans of very raw, primitive USBM, and noisecore.

Brobdingnagian - "Machines of Unrelenting Terror" (2009)

BROBDINGNAGIAN "Machines of Unrelenting Terror"

Year: 2009
Genre: Black Noise
Country: USA

Track List:
  1. Machines of Unrelenting Terror
  2. CITRTETMYIT
DOWNLOAD

When I started listening to this release, at first I was like "WTF?!", but then I realized that it's great! Despite its unconvicing beginning (first 3-4 minutes), it's an awesome harsh noise/BM EP. I know a lot of you like extreme noise and raw USBM, so you probably won't be disappointed by this one.

Looks like Brobdingnagian are on our side, as they sent the their newest EP for a review, but I decided to post this one instead. There are also some other Brobdingnagian and related projects' releases available for free download here.

underfear - "Внутри себя Я рву провода" (2011)

UNDERFEAR "внутри себя Я рву провода"

Year: 2011
Genre: Harsh Noise / Digital Mathgrind
Country: Russia

Track List:
  1. внутри себя Я рву провода
DOWNLOAD

Very brutal industrial noisegrind from Penza (Russia) that will probably fit well in the line of harsh noise releases that I've posted here today. Recommended to all fans of The Berzerker (and extreme cybergrind in general). I have only very little info about the band, but at least they seem to be somehow connected to La Vida Cuesta Libertades.

Wormpig - "Poison" (2010)

WORMPIG "Poison"

Year: 2010
Genre: Black Noise/Power Electronics
Country: Russia
Label: Hiroshima Toy Pet Records

Track List:
  1. Deathcrush (Mayhem cover)
  2. Eyes
  3. Hail Nothing
DOWNLOAD

Wormpig is an one-man extreme noise/BM project from the founding member of "anti-human noisecore/noisegrind" project Pissdeads. He himself uploaded all releases - both by Pissdeads and Wormpig - to gnwp.ru, so I think think demo would fit well in here too. Only for fans of very noisy stuff (see Funeral Stench)!

GoddessX - "Future Elegy" (2010)

GODDESS-X "Future Elegy"

Year: 2010
Genre: Raw Black Metal, Noise Rock
Country: USA

Track List:

  1. Metamorphic Crunch
  2. Menstrual Asylum
  3. A Star Emerges
  4. Goddess of MindXpansion
  5. Eternal Death

DOWNLOAD

"GoddessX is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, percussionist, and artist living in beautiful Crozet, Virginia. Originally from Bedford County, Pennsylvania, she spent the first 25 years of her life surrounded by an oppressive, anti-intellectual, right-wing Christian monoculture. Her art and music is a war against such ignorance and self-denial. Extreme isolation gave her the space she needed to develop the resourcefulness, independence, and imagination that typifies all of her work" - official biography

What can I say? The first similar project that comes to my mind is DödsÄngel, but GoddessX' music is even more harsh and raw. I'd say it's comparable to Orisha Shakpana in terms of quality of production, so if you aren't into noisy and chaotic stuff - then steer away. You can also listen to it at SoundCloud and decide if it's worth downloading. However, it's still pretty interesting record (at least for a first home-made demo), and I'll wait for a second EP, which is announced to come out in summer 2012.

Her music appears to be strongly influenced by Thelema, chaos magick... and of course, anarchist ideology. That's a relief to see someone who's really into chaos magick and anarchism at the same time... because the majority of the "chaos mages" I've came across are so-called "national anarchists", "national liberals" or some other shit like that; and the most prominent Thelemite out here is Misha Verbitsky, whose political views are also very controversial (but nevertheless interesting). However, I've strayed away from the topic. Perhaps I should write a separate post about Russian anarcho-mysticism (quite interesting subject which is highly relevant to my blog), but right now let's talk about GoddessX and her music. Hope all the enthusiasts of extreme and aggressive female-fronted music will enjoy her debut EP, despite the amateur quality of recording... and if you wish to get in contact with her, you can try it through last.fm. Or facebook.

Vaba Marat & Hehexun - split (2010)

VABA MARAT / HEHEXUN

Year: 2010
Genre: Raw Black Metal / Noisecore
Country: Brazil

Track List:

Hehexun
  1. A Metrópole
  2. Ao Primeiro Raio De Sol
Vaba Marat

  1. A Larva
  2. Emerson
DOWNLOAD

This is a new release from Curitiba-based anarchist noisecore/BM project Vaba Marat. VM's side of the split consists of two short tracks sounding more like grindcore/noisecore than black metal. As for Hehexun, I can describe their style as primitive black metal / DBSM with a bit of drone. Their sound is very minimalistic, seems like they even don't use any drums. Overall it's really odd stuff, only for fans of really underground noisy black/grind. If you're new to Vaba Marat, it probably would be better for you to start from the first demo.

Some more noisy stuff for you!

Anchorites - Brace the Sky

Anchorites: "we are a chaos magick/ social libertarian/ stonner/ discordian/ post civilisation/ arts collective, based out of the industrial wasteland of bushwick brooklyn, new york. we play a mix of lo-fi ambient tape black metal, mixed with some noise, sludge and clearer parts. we release everything ourselves diy, so it doesnt really make it very far outside of the new york diy scene.  the band is also comprised of various members of other meta/ punk/ and noise projects, including: opponents, blissed out, (a)truth and when i came back from death. this is a tape demo of a rehearsal thats been spreading around.  also make a point to state that we are vehemently anti: -fascist, -racist, -homophobic, -sexist, -xenophobic, -police, -state and against various other forms of scum".

Enkï - Haxan

The 1st demo track by Enkï, a very raw black metal project emerged from The North Carolina hardcore scene (just like Violent Ends).

Kriminaaliset Metsänhaltijat - NATO

KM are a very harsh noise project from Russia and Finland, formed in 1999 and recorded their first tape "NATO" in 2004. This is not a full album, just two tracks which are available online for free. From archive.org: "Anarchic power-electronics as it is: roaring feedbacks, metal junk noise attacks, fat synthesizers and powerful vocal, which shouts about rotten society, disgusting politicians and other corrupted bastards. Amazing anarcho-industrial album from uncanny, original and mysterious band".

I also need to mention Vagancy, a new noisecore / grindcore / anarcho-black metal project from Argentina. Up to date, all their releases were made just for fun, as it's extremely difficult to produce any underground music in Argentina. If you aren't afraid of noisecore, then you may search for their releases by yourself.

First of all, I need to apologize for not updating my blog for too long. Unfortunately it takes a lot of time and effort, so the updates would be rare :( Nevertheless, today I have something worth your attention.
Let's begin from "Legião de Paga-paus", a 2008 demo from Brazilian 8bit/noisecore/anarcho-punk/blackmetal/whatever else project. Baphometro formed in 2006 by xDevTscHx and Howler in São Paulo, Brazil, as a parody "straight edge black metal" band, and release 3 demos since that time. All of them are available for free on archive.org, and I want to bring the lastest one to your attention. Yes, of course it's shit, but it's funny shit! If you like toilet black metal/punk mixed with SNES tunes, then feel free to check it out.

"Baphometro started in the year 2006, trying to play True Satanic (joke) Black Metal, against the NSBM and against all the melodic black metal trend.
