Kluizenaer - "Anachoryt" (2015)

KLUIZENAER "Anachoryt"

Year: 2015
Genre: Raw Black Metal, Dark Ambient/Drone
Country: Netherlands

Track List:
  1. Ontkenning Van Het Bestaan Van Betekenis Of Waarde
  2. Allesomvattende Afkeer
bandcamp

The second release by a Dutch one-man project whose debut one was reviewed by me this summer. This new EP is still rooted in dark ambient and noise/drone, but it's definitely more BM-oriented than the debut album. Quite impressive stuff, especially if you listen to it alone in the dark.

Kluizenaer - "Radbraak" (2015)

KLUIZENAER "Radbraak"

Year: 2015
Genre: Dark Ambient, Drone/Noise
Country: Netherlands

Track List:
  1. Ik, De Duvelmakere
  2. Raaskalk
  3. Verpest en Vervloekt
  4. De Zwijgende Profeet
bandcamp

Kluizenaer ("Hermit") is an one-man project from a place with a strange name "'s Hertogenbosch", colloqually known as just "Den Bosch".  The music is mostly "blackened" ambient drone/noise. It isn't directly political, more medieval/occult-themed, but the person behind the project is definitely into the red/anarchist thought. More stuff is coming soon.

Endor - "The Angriest Angel" (2014)

ENDOR "The Angriest Angel"

Year: 2014
Genre: Blackened Death Metal
Country: Netherlands

Track List:
  1. Intro: Satan's Return + The Angry One
  2. The Forgotten Son
  3. The Most Evil
  4. Tomorrow Is Dead
  5. Judgement Day
  6. Satan Prevails
DOWNLOAD

One more free release which came into my mail without much additional information. After a little research, I found out that Endor are a quite old band (formed in 1988). This album is said to be originally recorded on a IV Track Recorder in 2001-2004, and released by Torn Flesh Records in July 2014. The label itself is based out of Portland, and seems to be specializing in grindcore. Most of the bands from their roster are unknown to me, although there are at least two bands that appeared on my blog before (Ramlord and Gukurahundi). As for this album, it's pretty good, even though the lyrics seem to be on the level of an average raw black metal band. Recommended if you're into more atmospheric yet brutal kind of death metal.

Gethsemane - demo (2013)

GETHSEMANE "Gethsemane"

Year: 2013
Genre: Black Metal
Country: Netherlands

bandcamp

The only thing that's public about this project is that the lyrics are based on the works of Dutch writer Simon Vestdijk, whose beliefs were said to be close to the ideology of RABM. Well, according to his biography, it indeed looks so (he definitely was an anti-fascist, and he viewed the "bourgeous Mentalität" as the greatest danger to human individuality). "Gethsemane" is going to be released on tape 1st of March.

Svartvit - "Auto-da-Fé" (2012)

SVARTVIT "Auto-da-Fé"

Year: 2012
Genre: Anarchist Harsh Noise
Country: Netherlands

Track List:
  1. Worthless & Miserable
  2. Pseudo-solidarity
DOWNLOAD

"It's a tour-release for a 9-day tour that I'm doing in a few days. It's on tape but I'm sharing the downloads as always. If anyone can pitch in some money that would be great but free downloads rule the world.
...The project has been more and more becoming a political outlet for me next to the personal stuff I put in. These two tracks are focussing on all the unjust that is done to (anarchist) political prisoners and the fake solidarity that a lot of people show with activists, living off the enthousiasm and then backing out when needed. When someone gets imprisoned for their beliefs not only the first few months matter, they need full-time support. These things turn out to be even more important when people get frauded into jail just for owning some anarchist literature"

Svartvit - live set (2012)

SVARTVIT "Live @ Don't cum if you don't like noize"

Year: 2012
Genre: Harsh Noise, Power Electronic
Country: Netherlands

DOWNLOAD

Svartvit, a self-labelled "violent harsh noise" project from Holland, is active again after a period of almost no shows. Here's a lo-fi live recording of Svartvit set @ JH Jespo (Vertrijk, Belgium). Next show is scheduled for Sept. 8th @ Cinepalace, Kortrijk. Svartvit's creative output may be not noticeably political (except for one track called "Black Bloc"), but the ideology behind the project is definitely anarchist.

Eden To Ashes - demo (2011)

EDEN TO ASHES "demo"

Year: 2011
Genre: Melodic Death Metal
Country: Netherlands

Track List:
  1. Prelude
  2. The Black Stain
  3. Deception
  4. Clouds
  5. Beyond Duality
DOWNLOAD

One more metal project which I found on revleft.com long time ago (it's a band of one of the active members of that forum). An excerpt from their official biography:

"Eden to Ashes is a new Dutch metal band based in Nijmegen. They combine devastating metal with atmospheric and experimental overtones... The band tries to steer away from musical conventions and develop a sound based around death metal, but expanding into many different musical areas. Primary influences include artists such as Gojira, Devin Townsend, Behemoth and Neurosis. Their songs cover a wide range of lyrical themes such as societal problems, philosophy and entheogenic experiences. “When the decision was made to pull the plug on Heaven Denies, we all felt the need to create something different and new, without the burden of genres and conventions” Omar Kleiss, bass player and co-founder of the band, explains. “I think we have written some great material and we are getting close to the sound we have been looking for since the start of our band.”"

Well, their sound turned out to be not as progressive as I expected after reading that, and the vocal work isn't that impressive, but it's still a good demo (moreover, it's completely free), so I recommend to give it a listen.

Terzij de Horde - "A Rage of Rapture Against the Dying of Light" (2010)

TERZIJ DE HORDE "A Rage of Rapture Against the Dying of Light"

Year: 2010
Genre: Post-Black Metal
Country: Netherlands

Track List:
  1. Prometheans
  2. Vertigo: the Mithraic Ritual
  3. The Roots of Doomsday Anxiety
  4. Non Timetis Messor
DOWNLOAD

It's not a coincidence that I've posted this EP right after JWP's two albums: Terzij de Horde are very close to JWP in terms of sound, though they're much more of post-black metal than everything else. Despite its not very comprehensible title (disregard that, I just don't know much about Welsh poetry), "A Rage of Rapture Against the Dying of Light" is a very good EP, so I recommend it to everyone who like progressive black metal. And according to their bassist: "We are all definitely leftist people, but we've decided not to stand out as a political band, because we don't want to be "hijacked" by a certain label. But as for me, I'm an anarcho-syndicalist, and the rest of the band is left to extreme-left".
