And now, here comes something completely different from everything I've posted before. It's not black metal, or any other kind of metal/punk at all - it is experimental industrial/ambient music based on percussion and sampling. And of course, it's inspired by radical anarchist beliefs - just look at the tracks' names. Martial industrial and neofolk scene always seemed to be predominately right-wing, so it was very surprising to me to discover such band as Militia. Furthermore, the band has a relatively long history (over 20 years of activity):
"Militia is a Belgian industrial percussion band. It was founded in 1989 by the multi-instrumentalist Frank Gorissen and wind instrument player Jo Billen and now 6 musicians are involved. The band is known for its use of self made percussion and wind instruments and the scrap material they transform into musical instruments. The band's music is often inspired by the anarchic and atheist social views and their concern about our natural environment, themes that can be found in most of their lyrics and statements"
See this Wikipedia article for more info about Militia (the article is very informative and has lots of external links). Or you can just download both two sides of the album, and enjoy some contemporary anarchist music which isn't not based on punk at all (it's a very rare thing, I guess).

ReplyDeleteFrostwinter is another Martial Industrial, who is is a Nihilist project but supports the ALF and ELF and VHEMT, So there is a good chance of the project having left wing tendencies.
