KATA SARKA "split w/ Boddicker"
These two tracks were originally released on a split cassette w/ Boddicker (limited to 100 HQ cassette copies, sold out) about an year ago, now available as a free download. The most recent release by Kata Sarka, "Crucible of Misanthropy" (released October 31st, 2012), still isn't, though. There's no other news from the band (which is definitely one of the best American blackened crust bands), and their official site doesn't seem to be working for me. Maybe I should try to contact them via email...

they are definitely still pretty active, at least playing shows around the midwest. don't remember specifics, though, sorry. thanks for the upload!
ReplyDeleteThe tape was released by Reality is a Cult, which has rereleased it on a 7" that is still available. http://realityisacult.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThis is Adam from Kata Sarka. We are still active and are playing with NYC's Belus (members of Mortals other band) next week. After that, we will be going on somewhat of a hiatus for an indefinite period of time to sort of "re-design" the framework of the band and think about what direction we are going in.
ReplyDeleteAlso, a point of correction to the above post^: I released the split tape on my cassette label, 18 is 9, not Reality is a Cult. RIAC just re-released it on vinyl, and Profane Existence are going to do a limited run of the split for their singles series in November.
I also play guitar in Boddicker, whom we did the split with and another black metal influenced group called Casque, whom Kata Sarka's vocalist is also a member of. You can check that band out here:
