The second album by Panopticon is even more complex and experimental than the first. The quality of sound is significantly better, though the drums are too loud IMHO. The strong "industrial" feeling is also present due to extensive use of sampling, as well as acoustic/"folk-ish" parts.
The lyrics are perfect as usual, placing the Nordic mythology in the context of political events of modern world. Seem like A.Lundr's lyrics are the most explicitly anarchistic (or at least revolutionary) in the entire black metal scene.
"Collapse" is overall a great release, a perfect gift to any RABM fan, and one more reason to call Panopticon the best anarchist black metal band nowadays. Don't pass it by!
THANK YOU for this release. Been searching for a while.
ReplyDeleteAnd btw, awesome blog, keep the good shit coming.
Thanks man!! HAIL ANARCHY!!!
ReplyDeleteNice one!
ReplyDeleteThis might be my favorite album yet from this blog. It's especially cool b/c I used to be really into the norse stuff, but don't like the nationalism and racism that often accompanies.
