PANOPTICON / WHEELS WITHIN WHEELS "It's Later Than You Think"

Year: 2009
Genre: Atmospheric Black Metal / Post-Rock
Country: USA
Label: Lundr Records

Track List:

Panopticon
  1. ...Speaking... (collapsed version)
  2. The Ghosts Of Haymarket Square

Wheels Within Wheels
  1. Beginning
  2. White Light Rains Down On....
bandcamp

And one more post for all fans of Panopticon (I know there are many!). It's a well-known split album with Wheels Within Wheels, when Panopticon suddenly became very post-rockish. This is certainly one of the most original and experimental RABM releases so far.

Only a very little is known about Wheels Within Wheels. Just like Panopticon, it's one-man project, and it has released only two instrumental tracks. However, some people consider WWW better than Panopticon.
As for Panopticon, on this release its sound became more complex and atmospheric than ever. Overall it's a very good album with great atmosphere, definitely worth listening to. BTW, the track "The Ghosts Of Haymarket Square" is dedicated to the martyrs of 1886 Haymarket riot in Chicago:

  1. this is such a great iniciative, as a grind and crust y never though i would find anarchist black metal (specially with so many nazis in black metal scene)

  2. It's sad all communist black metal bands seem to be Stalinists. Less "Great Patriottic War" (nothing great about it), more class struggle and workers' emancipation!

Maybe post some Martyrdöd? I'm not sure how political they really are but it's the best best blackened crust around.

    Cheers,

    Bart

Что касается Panopticon, то это действительно отличный проект, самобытный и оригинальный. Локомотив RABM-сцены. Извините, что не по английски, я в школе немецкий язык учил...))
