Genre: Post-Black Metal, Blackened Crust
Country: USA

Track List:
  1. Planetary Entombment

  3. A Bouquet Of Rotting Flowers Lining The Mass Graves Of Humanity
  4. Destroyed By Ourselves
  5. Buried Under The Waves Of Discontent
  6. Night Terrors On The Eve Of The Winter Solstice
bandcamp

Like in case with Ash Eaters, I got to hear this album shortly after it was released (and found it to be very good), but until now I didn't know that the members of Katahajime read and support my blog:

"...We're from Allentown,PA in the states, and we are about a year and a half old, we originally started as a 3 piece and we recorded a s/t release as that chapter, not to long after we decided that we would benefit from a 2nd guitarist and added a friend of ours to the mix, with him we recorded two tour demo tapes, a summer and fall one. The bands name is Katahajime, pronounced (kata-ha-ja-may) it is a Japanese judo hold similar to a chokehold.  We did two small tours with those tapes. Since we have been back from our tour we are working hard at getting the songs for our upcoming full length finished, we will be going into the studio very soon and hope to have the LP out by spring/summer. At the current moment it will most likely be a self release by us. When people ask myself of my band mates to describe our sound it gets tough, we mix a bunch of things together as you will hear in the songs. I tend to say we are a "atmospheric blackend crust" band with hints of black metal, crust, d-beat, and post rock..."

Storm of Sedition - "Self Titled Cassette" (2014)

STORM OF SEDITION "Self Titled Cassette"

Year:  2014
Genre: Crust
Country:  Canada

Track List:

  1. Mountains of Waste
  2. Prisoners of Industry
  3. Insurrectionary Fire
  4. Dead of Night
  5. Fire to the Prisons
  6. Black Death
  7. Speciesist Violence
  8. Science/Technology/Control
bandcamp

This band was brought to my attention by a fan of the band who is also a fan of this blog.  Though they are not overly blackened, I think they are a good fit here, especially politically.  According to their bandcamp, "Storm of Sedition is a DIY anarchist crust-punk band based out of Victoria BC Kkkanada (occupied Coast Salish Territories). We aim to spread through our music, the hatred of civilization, domestication, and control, while promoting resistance to the techno-industrial capitalist system."  Apparently they share two band members with Iskra who has been regularly featured on this blog.  Currently, the album is only available for streaming and I have been unable to obtain a download link.  I'll work on getting that, and update this post when I have it.

Stillborn Fawn - "Heathen" (2013)

STILLBORN FAWN "Heathen"

Year: 2013
Genre: USBM
Country: USA

Track List:
  1. Satan in the Mirror
  2. Exclusion Ritual
  3. The Weary Fugitive
  4. Black Forest Fire
  5. Haunted by Waters
bandcamp

This Denver-based black metal band is apolitical, with more an existential variety of lyrics (which reminds me of Kalendae, even though they aren't very similar to SF in terms of sound). Yet I think a lot of my readers would be interested in this release. It isn't available for free download, but you can stream it off the band's bandcamp page. You can also find their earlier demos there, although they're much more raw than this release.

The Ash Eaters - "Nothing is Real" (2014)

THE ASH EATERS "Nothing Is Real"

Year: 2014
Genre: USBM
Country: USA

Track List:
  1. Nethescurial
  2. Nothing Is Real
  3. Still Haunted
I knew about this project well before receiving a message from them (all hail /blackwall!), but it's good to know that they read my blog too. Here's their latest 3-track EP, which sounds raw and abrasive, but definitely different from most other raw USBM releases. Like all their earlier albums, this EP is available for free download from bandcamp (or their blog).

Razörschrieck (ex-Омут) - "Depressionnaire" (2014)

RAZORSCHRIECK "Depressionnaire"

Year: 2013
Genre: DSBM/Doom Metal
Country: Russia

Track List:
  1. Шаблон
  2. Я Виноват Во Всём
  3. Вечная Усталость
  4. Из Буднично-Серого В Болезненно-Красное
bandcamp

Razörschrieck is a new project of Hikksvoesatt, the only member of Омут. It was started in autumn of 2012 as an attempt of makink depressive black metal / dark ambient with a more serious approach than on Омут's early demos. So far he released two albums - " Descensus" (DSBM) and "Larvae Terrae Neglectae ("Ghosts of Neglected Lands")" (dark ambient / industrial noise). This EP is his most recent release; musically  it's DSBM/doom/sludge with screaming/shrieking vocals. An interesting fact: Razörschrieck hails from Ivanovo, a region which is frequently described as "depressive" - meaning "economically depressive", but this description suits most aspects of life in there too.

bandcamp

Since Hayduke X. have posted a few releases that aren't exactly "blackened", but rather regular hardcore punk or crust/d-beat, I'm going to post something in this vein too. Swine are a hardcore band from Sydney who released their debut self-titled album a few months ago. Even though their music isn't metal at all, I found this album to be very good and decided to share it with you.

"...We're not signed to any label and funded the album ourselves, and we're really proud of it. We are strong believers in the “pay what you want” model, we just appreciate people being able to hear it"

Dad Jazz - "Exitpoint Stallion" (2013)

  7. Monsanferato

  9. Nice Guy
  10. You Make Me Sick

DOWNLOAD
Dad Jazz is a hardcore punk band from Washington State in the United States.  They write, "the ideologies behind our songs are very much in synch with many anarchist ideals (anti-consumption, resource exploitation awareness, ecological awareness, etc.)"  Musically they are a pretty solid band, though not really breaking any new ground.  They are not blackened at all, but their themes are likely of interest to many of the readers here.  I particularly liked track 7.
