Some news (and two minutes of misanthropy...)

First of all, now we have a test version of a new RABM forum, this time using a professional hosting - without ads, almost without downtimes, and hopefully without spam. Everyone is welcome to try it out, and if everything works OK, then I'll close the old forum. Unfortunately I can't just transfer the database from the old forum to a new one...

Second: I know my blog and my posts on revleft.com are one of the very few English-language sources of information about the situation in post-Soviet countries from the left perspective, but right now I don't want to write anything on such topics. Maybe it's just a short-term depression, but the overall stupidity of our society sickens me - now I fully understand the meaning of J. de Maistre's quote "Every country has the government it deserves". Our oppositioners (both liberals and nationalists) say that we're governed by the party of looters and thieves (which is true), but I can't see any significant opposition group (be it Strategy-31 or anyone else) which is any better. Seriously, fuck them all. The political processes in the whole world also disappoint me, but I can't say anything better than what's said by one of revleft.com users:

"Ok, I think that the conservative right will step up against globalization and give power back to local oligarchies. I think religion will see great growth, especially Islam, and that the Arab Spring will end with a series of new neoliberal regimes that hypocritically support international trade while the first world wallows in petty nationalism and racism. I think Mitt Romney will be America's next president, a kind of Reaganesque airhead who will let the CIA secretly re-enforce its reign of terror all around the world. I think China will seize the opportunity to increase its sphere of influence..."

Pretty much my thoughts, and I can't see what can be done against it. Will we have enough mental strength to stand against the whole world?.. Anyway, I'd never give up my beliefs, but right now I need to take a break from political observations. Let's focus on music.

  1. Hey... I know we're very small on Russia and that it's very hard to believe in anything considering all you've seen so far, not to mention the fact that you tend more towards anarchism and as such disagree with many things we say (I was an anarchist too), but...

This is site of our section in Russia. I hope it's useful for you... I can't read it, unfortunately, but I suppose you'll be able to make some use of it.

  2. I totally understand your posistion right now, sometimes is good to break free from politics and suchs topics that take so much of our lives. Here in Chile things have been pretty hot lately, specially on what education means here, lots of demos last months and schools taken over.

I am about to finish the editing about the spanish civil war, it is a documental of some old real footage from that time, I was translating from spanish to english and now I am prepraring myself to edit the entire video to put the subs and convert the video file, just some minor details and it will be done, that way I can share it with you all that have not much idea of Spanish :D

    see ya around
